Honda gives its wing a modern twist as it gears up for the electric age

Honda reveals new badges for its bikes, keeping the classic Wing for combustion models while introducing a clean, modern “Honda” mark for its EV lineup.

Honda has announced a major visual refresh for its motorcycle range, introducing a new product mark for its upcoming electric models while giving its internal combustion engine (ICE) bikes a sharper, more premium emblem. It’s a small change on the surface, but one that neatly captures the direction Honda is heading—balancing 75 years of combustion heritage with a bold charge into the electric age.

The electric “Honda” gets its own identity

From 2026, Honda’s battery-powered bikes will wear a new logo: simply Honda, written in the same clean, modern font already seen on the brand’s electric cars. The idea is to unify Honda’s growing electric family across both two and four wheels.

The company says this dedicated font will appear not only on the motorcycles themselves but also at official electric Honda dealerships and even in its motorsport efforts. It’ll first be seen on the new Honda WN7, the machine set to spearhead the brand’s global electric push, starting in Asia before rolling out elsewhere.

This new mark, Honda says, represents more than just a change of typeface. It’s designed to embody the brand’s “commitment to electrification” and highlight the “unique value” of electric mobility, setting it apart from traditional ICE motorcycles that still proudly wear the Wing.

Fear not, Fireblade fans, the Wing isn’t going anywhere. In fact, it’s getting an update worthy of Honda’s flagship models.

The familiar red badge with a silver wing has been redesigned into a more minimalist “Honda Flagship WING” emblem, now finished in a sleek silver-and-black monochrome. The effect is subtle but classy, intended to work harmoniously with a wider range of paint schemes and styles, from the retro Rebel 1100 to the razor-edged CBR1000RR-R Fireblade.

There’s substance beneath the shine, too. The new badge is made using recycled acrylic resin, part of Honda’s effort to make even its aesthetic choices more sustainable.

The emblem made its global debut on the V3R E-Compressor Prototype at EICMA 2025 in Milan, and production bikes will begin adopting it from 2026 onwards. Expect to see it on top-tier machines within the CBR, Gold Wing, and Rebel families first.

Honda’s decision to separate its ICE and electric branding feels significant. The Wing will continue to represent the company’s legendary combustion-powered machines - the bikes that built its reputation on racetracks and roads around the world. The new electric design, meanwhile, is a statement of intent from the Japanese giant: Honda is serious about EVs, and it wants riders to know it.

With the electric motorcycle market set to expand rapidly over the next few years, Honda’s fresh visual identity could help bridge the gap between its storied past and its ambitious electric future.

Whether it’s the quiet hum of the upcoming WN7 or the thunderous howl of a Fireblade on full chat, one thing’s clear: Honda is gearing up for a future where both powertrains can coexist, each with its own visual identity.
