GoPro Moves Closer to Helmet Sector After AGV Partnership
Despite buying up the Forcite helmet brand some time ago, GoPro moves into a technical partnership with helmet maker AGV

The action camera leader GoPro has joined forces with one of the most famous motorcycle helmet manufacturers on the planet, AGV.
While it doen’t take a genius to figure out where this is going, for clarity we’ll spell it out: GoPro tech meets high-end motorcycle helmet - you get the picture. It’s something GoPro has been eyeing for some time, since it acquired the Forecite helmet brand in early 2024. And while the Forcite deal was big news, partnering with AGV gives the whole project a bit more of a serious feel to it.
How the final system will look remains to be seen, although it’s likely that GoPro wants to lean on AGV’s manufacturing and design expertise to make the final product just that little bit more premium. Don’t get me wrong, the Forcite helmets looked good on paper. All the tech, all the time and without having to take your hands off the bars. They also had integrated cameras built in. But comparing the quality of that footage to what I get with my GoPro Hero 13 Black is like comparing a Lexmoto 125 scooter to a Panigale V4. The overall product also didn’t have that quality feel that you get from a premium helmet brand.

RideApart’s Janaki Jitchotvisut reports that the details unfolded on a 2025 Q1 earnings call from the GoPro CEO, Nicholas Woodman. On the call, he confirmed that GoPro and AGV were working together on "tech-enabled motorcycle helmets." He went on to say. "This partnership between GoPro and AGV represents the exciting potential of two powerhouse brands coming together to bring meaningful innovation, improved safety and performance to the world of motorcycling, leveraging each other's design, engineering, and brand strengths. We look forward to sharing updates as we move closer towards launching our first product together."
When exactly these new helmets from GoPro will arrive is unknown, as is whether or not they will be co-branded as AGV X GoPro, or if they will become the new line of Forcite connected lids. Whatever happens, if you like your tech integrated into your lid, the next few years could be very interesting.
