We’re in Almeria for the European press launch of the new and upcoming middle-weight sports bike from Yamaha, the 2022 R7.

It may not be the OWO3 that many were hoping for, but this latest offering from Yamaha seeks to find a new home for the CP2 motor found in the MT-07, but provide a more sporty output with revised suspension, clip-on bars with aggressive riding position, and that marmite headlight.

Officially announced today was the £8,200 price tag, and if you have a penchant for the extravagant you can opt for the delicious 60th Anniversary edition livery for an additional £300 on top.

Whilst the MT-07 comparisons are easy to make with the same engine, but will it feel the same on the road and track? It may be a tad disappointing if it feels like an MT with a fairing slapped on, but something tells us that may not be the case… In any case, we find out tomorrow when we finally get on the thing!

So, what do you want to know ahead of our premiere ride and first review? Let us know on social media and Toad will make sure he mentions it on the review.

That reminds me, here’s the typical YouTube blurb: subscribe, like, and comment on the video, and stay up to date with our antics on the Visordown YouTube channel. It’s definitely worth your while, simply because you’ll be first to see the review when it comes out!

How'd you get up there, Yamaha R7?

Ask your dealer for the 'walk on water' accessory pack!
