If you’re not familiar with the Tinker Hatfield name, you’ll certainly be familiar with his design work with Nike and the Jordan brands, and is the man credited as creating some of the most popular footwear in the world for sneakerheads. If that doesn’t float your boat, though, this might. the custom Zero SR/f he has designed in collaboration with See See Motor Coffee of Oregon in the United States.

Starting life as a standard Zero SR/F, with 140 ft-lbs of torque and 110 bhp, this electric motorcycle was given the ‘ultimate makeover’ by Hatfield and Thor Drake of See See Motor Coffee - Hatfield naturally paying primary attention to the design work with Drake sorting out the technical aspects. given his history in custom motorcycles.

It’s a seriously ‘retro-future’ aggressive look here, with plastic parts ditched for riveted aluminium, including a new custom-built ‘tank’, or at least where the tank would sit, and a new front fairing design.

The rear sprocket was re-designed to feature the See See logo, the seat is a stunning custom fit piece with design from a local Oregon tattoo artist, and a teal blue accent on the wheels and accents ties it all together.

It may be a showpiece now, but this is still a fully functioning electric motorcycle, capable of up to 124 mph and a 200 mile (city) range.

Charge time will still be around 80 minutes, and the machine will weigh upwards of 220 kg - unless some weight saving has been done (though I’d guess with aluminium panels being added, I can’t imagine they were worried about weight).

Form over function and all that.

The duo added Ohlins USD forks, Brembo brakes, and other parts like Rizoma turn signals to complete the look, and the result is undoubtedly a work of art, the level of intricacy and detail is superb.

Custom electric motorcycles: Zero SR/F from Tinker Hatfield and See See Motor Coffee

What are the plans for the Zero SR/F Hatfield x See See Motor? Well, it’s going up for auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles on the 21st of October, with proceed going to charity. A standard model starts at $20,000 (£17,000), so expect it to start higher than that if you’ve got eyes on it.

Random fact here too. As per Jalopnik, Hatfield was turned to motorcycles by none other than Michael Jordan himself, after he would arrive to his design studio by scooter, and prompted to ride something cooler by the Bulls star - he then caught the bug!
