The DAO Racing team has announced that it will return to road racing in 2026 with two-time BSB champion Josh Brookes.

Originally set up as a road racing outfit more than 10 years ago in 2014, DAO Racing has mainly focused on BSB in the past couple of years, taking its first win in the championship with Brookes at Donington Park last year.

The team has also had plenty of road racing success over the years, most notably winning the Senior TT with Dean Harrison in 2019.

But it will be Brookes that rides the team’s Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade on the roads this year, starting with an appearance at the North West 200.

In 2025, Brookes competed for a different team on the roads, which the Australian believes disrupted his preparations. But that’s all changed for 2026 as Brookes will again ride for DAO Racing in BSB as well.

Brookes made his Isle of Man TT debut in 2013 and became the fastest newcomer at the event. He competed with the Tyco Suzuki team in the Superbike, Superstock and Senior TT races that year.

Brookes has since become a two-time podium finisher at the event, which includes a second-place finish in the Senior TT in 2024.

Speaking about his 2026 road racing plans with DAO Racing, Brookes said:

“It gives me a lot of confidence that for the 2026 Isle of Man TT and North West 200 I’ll be competing with a team that has a proven pedigree at the events. Reflecting on 2025, I was racing with DAO Racing in BSB and then I rode for a separate outfit on the roads, which was a little bit disruptive to my preparations. I think staying with one team throughout the whole process is a far better environment to work in, the equipment will be to the highest standard, something in which DAO Racing prides itself on.

“I’ll have a better understanding of where the bike is, what’s capable and I’ll have the confidence in the continuity of all the crew and team behind me. It’ll make for a more pleasant, competitive and enjoyable experience at these events.”

The 2026 Isle of Man TT takes place between 25 May and 6 June. The North West 200 takes place a couple of weeks before on 6–9 May.
