BMW R1300 GS boosted by soft luggage system from Touratech
Touratech’s new Plug and Travel soft luggage system is fully compatible with the BMW R1300 GS.
The BMW R1300 GS has been boosted by the arrival of a world-first Plug and Travel soft luggage kit from adventure accessories experts Touratech.
Already one of the best-selling motorcycles in the UK and Europe, the R1300 GS’s long-distance travelling capabilities could now appeal even more to customers thanks to this new system. Touratech’s tool-free adapter means soft luggage can be mounted directly to the R1300 GS’s Vario carrier, giving riders the choice between hard and soft luggage.

Based in Niedereschach, Germany, Touratech claims it is the “first manufacturer worldwide to present a professional soft luggage system that is fully compatible with the original BMW Vario luggage rack of the new R 1300 GS”.
The adapter is made with fibre-reinforced plastic, with aluminium back plates and a lock set all included as standard.
As part of a press release, Touratech also goes on to say that the system offers an “appropriate luggage line depending on the intended use, destination and personal requirements. From everyday urban use to extreme expeditions, GS riders now have access to an unprecedented range of transport solutions.”
If you’re slightly unfamiliar with Touratech, it is a company that specialises in adventure motorcycle equipment and accessories. It supplies various bits of kit for a plethora of other models, including other BMW’s such as the F900 R.

The Touratech Plug & Travel soft luggage system is available in three flavours; Endurance, Travel, or the Extreme Edition. The Endurance luggage is priced at £650, while the Travel package comes in at £910. The most expensive is the Extreme Edition, at £997.
