BMW’s growing 450 range is about to gain a new family member, as a sporty-looking F450 RR prepares to make its bow.

There has been a flurry of new bikes heading into BMW’s 450 range recently. It started with the F450 GS adventure bike, which we tested in Sicily earlier this year. Then we had the road-focused F450 R, which was officially announced in September 2026.

And now we are edging closer to a full-circle moment, as BMW readies the sports variant for its public debut.

The news comes from social media and the official BMW Motorrad account. It has shared a not-so-teasing teaser image of a sports bike silhouetted against an urban backdrop. And you really don’t have to be Hercule Poirot to figure out which bike is lurking in the shadows.

The machine is clearly fully faired, and given the shapes we can see at the front of the fairing, it seems to be wearing the now-obligatory wings. The single front disc brake marks it out as a light- to middle-weight contender, and with that in mind, there really is only one bike it could be.

BMW has had an A2 'RR' model in its range for some time, in the form of the G310 RR. It wasn't available in all markets, though, with the UK being one that missed the cut. That could be about to change, though, as the official BMW Motorrad UK Instagram account has also shared the same teaser.

The official spec and features of the bike are unknown, although given what we know about the F450 GS and F450 R, we can have a stab at some of them.

Going by Beemer’s existing 450s, we expect the power output to be around or just under 50bhp – which would make it A2 compliant right out of the box. We’d also expect the weight to be in the region of 180kg, which would put it right in the ballpark with the competition from Honda, Kawasaki, and Aprilia.

Tech will likely be one area where BMW flexes its muscles, and we would expect the F450 RR to arrive stacked with IMU-controlled ABS and traction control, as well as sports and possibly optional track riding modes.

With the F450 R coming in at £6,395 and the F450 GS at £6,990, we expect the TVS-built RR to also be a relatively affordable option in the class.

To find out all the other unknowns about the new bike, we won’t have to wait long. BMW is set to reveal precisely what the bike is on 15 October at 4PM.
