An Apparent Euro-Spec CFMoto 500SR Voom Points to UK Arrival
The patent images show a 500SR Voom decked out with wheel discs, front brake shrouds and a different tail tidy.
Patent images have been published showing the retro CFMoto 500SR Voom in what looks like a Euro-friendly specification.
Teaser images of the Voom first appeared in 2024, with the bike making its entry into the Asian market shortly after. Since then, we’ve had no clue as to whether the bike would make its way to Europe, although these images now point to that happening.
There are a number of key differences between the bike available in Asia and the new patent images, with the rear wheel disc being the most obvious. While that isn’t a change due to European homologation, it’s interesting to see the bike fitted with the discs, multi-spoke alloy wheels of the Asian bike.
The second change, which again, isn’t a regulation thing, is the front brake. The caliper looks to be the same as found on the production bike already in the market, although on the patent images, the disc is shrouded in a MotoGP-style cover.
The final change, which I can see, is the tail tidy. On the Asian bike, the number plate seems to sit in a slightly different position, sitting forward of the rear-most section of the rear tyre. On the new patent, we can see that the number plate is almost exactly in line with the rear-most point of the rear tyre.
The rest of the bike looks to be the same as the production version. The quickshifter can still be seen, while the exhaust, rear-view mirrors and other parts all look to be the same across both bikes.
Exactly when the CFMoto 500SR Voom will make it to the UK and Europe remains to be seen. Although if you were to launch a new sports bike into the European market, showing it at EICMA this winter would be a fairly good start.
