AS IT CELEBRATES 115 years of heritage, Harley-Davidson is looking to the future. And if you haven’t gathered by now, that future is electric.
The Milwaukee manufacturer unveiled the production Livewire at its birthday celebrations yesterday, just a month after announcing that the model will be launched next year.
Little is known about the production Livewire, which follows on from the Project Livewire concept, which Harley took around the world on a test tour back in 2014.

But a completed model was unveiled at the Harley-Davidson Museum, giving a good idea of the model’s components, including what appears to be a cast aluminium swingarm and trellis frame alongside a belt drive, aggressive rearsets, Brembo calipers, inverted forks, and a rear monoshock.
Designed at Harley’s Product Development Center in Wisconsin and built at the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in York, PA, the Livewire will be the first in a series of electric motorcycles from the manufacturer.
