Overall Review

The 2014 KTM690 Enduro R is an excellent all-round motorcycle that can be made better to ride on the street or the dirt, by investing in some after-market parts. It is pricey but the quality of the components on the motorcycle justify that.

Strengths

Strong engine with variable ignition map settings. "Anti-hopping" clutch which all but completely stops the rear tire from skidding with aggressive down-shifting. Stock anti-lock brakes for more controlled aggressive stopping during street riding but can be switched off. Completely adjustable shock and forks. Large after-market parts availability. Light weight compared to anything in its class. The clutch action is smooth and light. I'm getting very good fuel mileage.

Weaknesses

The high price is justified by the quality of the product. The foot-pegs need to stick out farther to better grip the foot-wear. The switch for the engine ingnition changes would be better if mounted in an easier to reach area. The seat is less comfortable than its competitors. Save money for a change in that area. Occasional head-shake on the street, can be helped by adding air pressure to the tires.
