Ducati and a team of students from Bologna celebrate prestigious win
Ducati celebrates more racing success after a team of students from Bologna built this exquisite electric race bike.

A group of students from the university of Bologna and the UniBo Motorsport project, together with Ducati, has celebrated its third consecutive victory in the annual MotoStudent International Competition.
2025 has been another dominant year for Ducati in many respects, with Marc Marquez clinching his first MotoGP title as a Ducati rider.
It also enjoyed success in many other championships. However, this latest achievement will likely have gone under the radar, but it shouldn’t have.

The biennial competition involved 42 teams this year from different universities around the world. It took place from October 15-19 at the MotorLand Aragón circuit in Spain, and the electric prototype named Vega#88 was awarded the Best Design Award.
The bike was developed by the UniBo Motorsport students, together with Ducati engineers. During the main race it was then ridden by test rider Alessio Aldrovandi, who finished second behind the UPM MotoStudent Electric machine, which was built by students from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
UniBo Motorsport was supported by Fondazione Ducati, which has been active since 2006 and offers various high-level training opportunities as part of its cultural, educational and social initiatives.

Ducati says this latest victory was built over two years of work. It was then the focus of a meeting on December 15, which was hosted by Fisica in Moto Powered by Lenovo.
Speaking about the achievement, Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati and President of Fondazione Ducati, said:
"We are proud of the UniBo Motorsport Team's third consecutive victory and of the collaborative relationship we have built over time with the University of Bologna. It is a bond we deeply believe in and, almost twenty years after the creation of Fondazione Ducati, it has led to many young students from the world of education joining Ducati, representing a concrete investment in the preparation of colleagues of tomorrow.”
