WSB 2012: Aragon Race results

FIERCE rivals Max Biaggi and Marco Melandri shared the wins at a windy Aragon.

In the first race Aprilia's Biaggi took a close win from Melandri on the BMW by just 0.278s. The top two riders were clear of the pack as the contested the lead. Carlos Checa won the battle for third, from Chaz Davies. Pole-man Tom Sykes was denied a place of the rostrum after Ayrton Badovini lost the front and hit the factory Kawasaki rider.

BMW's Melandri scored his third win of the season on the factory S1000RR after a stunning four-way battle for the lead. The top quartet were separated by only 0.484 seconds, as the Italian was able to beat Eugene Laverty by just 0.042 seconds, following immediately in third was Chaz Davies who held off Biaggi to take his first ever World Superbike podium.
