For Sale: Marc Marquez's 2011 Suter
Repsol Moto2 team having a clear-out ahead of the 2012 season
THE Suter MMX machine ridden to second place in the 2011 Moto2 championship by Marc Marquez is for sale.
Advertised on Classic-Motorbikes.com the Suter Moto2 bike was ridden by Marquez to 11 podiums and seven wins last season, coming close to winning the title until the Spanish front-runner crashed in practice at Sepang and was sidelined with vision problems, missing the final two rounds.
The Repsol-liveried machine features a dual-beam aluminium chassis, high-grade Öhlins suspension and an adjustable swingarm, however the model for sale differs from the bike Marquez rode from Aragon onwards as the Swiss chassis builders introduced a new swingarm and minor changes to the frame.
As the bikes in the Moto2 series are powered by the same 140bhp 600cc four-stroke Honda engines supplied by Geo Technology, the engine here has been replaced with a HRC-kitted CBR600RR motor.
Last season Marquez's team were rumoured to have paid in the region of €200,000 for the full support package from Suter, which included development work and technical assistant from the Swiss engineering house.
A certificate of authenticity will be included with the bike, signed by Marquez's mentor, team manager and former 125GP champion Emilio Alzamora.
