MotoGP in Argentina?

Discussions held in Argentina to discuss the return of Grand Prix racing to South America

ARGENTINA'S Secretary of Tourism, Carlos Meyer has admitted that the country would be in favour of hosting a round of the MotoGP championship as early as 2012 or 2013.

The last time a MotoGP round was held in South America was in 2004 when Camel Honda rider Makota Tamada won the Rio Grande GP, in Brazil

Work on the Las Termas de Rio Hondo Autodromo is due for completion in 2012 and the picturesque coastal location of Santiago del Estero will provide a backdrop similar Philip Island.
