One of the motorcycles credited with turning Aprilia’s MotoGP fortunes around is up for sale on Autotrader, but you’ll need deep pockets to buy it.
If you have very deep pockets and a passion for collecting some of the rarest motorcycles in the world, then this exact Aleix Espargaro Aprilia RS-GP20 MotoGP bike might be of interest.
Although this version of the RS-GP did not record a podium finish during the 2020 MotoGP season, it is still recognised as one of the most influential bikes concerning turning the Noale company’s fortunes around in Grand Prix racing.
Developed significantly to the present day, the current RS-GP26, raced by Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin in 2026, is an extension of the first RS-GP that was launched in 2015. The bike struggled for success for several years, although Espargaro was a central figure in the project, as his feedback and knowledge helped steer the factory in the right direction.
That eventually led to the 2020 model, which was completely overhauled as it gained a brand-new engine. It also received improved aerodynamics and a double-rail alloy frame.
The bike might not have produced the flashiest results, but these changes were ultimately an indication of things to come. In 2021, Espargaro secured his first podium finish with Aprilia Racing, finishing third at the British Grand Prix, at Silverstone.
Since then, Aprilia has continued evolving the RS-GP into one of the most competitive machines alongside Ducati’s Desmosedici GP26.
