Back in September 2025, HJC revealed the latest version of its flagship sport-touring helmet, the RPHA 72. Now, that same helmet has a new Carbon edition which promises a lot.

Building on the technology that shaped the previous RPHA 71 design, the RPHA 72 Carbon “is engineered with [a] more advanced design, enhanced convenience, and performance tuned for a wide range of real-world riding conditions”, says the South Korean helmet maker.

The new RPHA 72 Carbon features a more compact shell which has reduced the overall helmet size compared to the previous model. Like the non-Carbon variants, it is also lighter than the outgoing RPHA 71.

The helmet has undergone vigorous wind-tunnel testing, and is “designed to effectively reduce high-speed lift, aerodynamic drag, and wind noise”. All of this means the new RPHA 71 Carbon should offer a quieter riding experience.

The RPHA 72 Carbon, like the standard model, features crown and cheek pads that are both removable and washable.

It also includes a titanium double D-Ring chinstrap, and meets both DOT and ECE 22.06 safety standards. Exclusive to this helmet is a gunmetal-coloured vent frame, while it is also compatible with Smart HJC 11B, 21B and 50B Bluetooth systems.

Riders interested in buying one of the new RPHA 72 Carbon edition helmets should know that the price rises compared to the standard ‘solid’ options.

The latter, which is available in a total of six solid colourways, is priced at €459, which converts to £399 in the UK, although some stores have the new helmet available for £379. The new Carbon variant in black will cost you £449, though.
