The Husqvarna Norden 901 has been known about for some time, although now we can see it what looks like finished form

THE Husqvarna Norden 901 was unveiled to the public at the tail-end of 2019 as a hipper and cooler looking version of the KTM 790 Adventure.

While it has been widely known the machine would make it into production, whether or not it stayed true to the concepts from was until now not known.

Now though, a leaked image that looks to be from an internal dealer presentation (god bless those loose-lipped dealers!) has confirmed the machine is looking just as good as it did in concept form.

It’s a fairly grainy image, although it does confirm that the Norden will retain its modern-looking fairing, headlight, and fog light arrangement.

In fact, the only real changes to the machine from concept to reality are the addition of homologation requirements.

The conceot 901 Norden as announced last year

Under the skin, the Norden will be powered by the same 889.5cc parallel-twin engine from the 890 Adventure. It has been tuned for adventure usage, as well as both on-road refinement and off-road capabilities, while Husqvarna also promises best-in-class lightness. It sits on adventure-spec 21” front and 18” rear, spoked wheels. The bike uses high-quality adjustable suspension, provided by in-house manufacturer WP.

The Husky will be diving straight into the highly middle-weight adventure sector, doing battle with bikes like the Triumph Tiger 900 and Yamaha’s highly successful Ténéré 700.

Pricing for the new model is as yet TBC, although as Husqvarna positions itself as a more high-end brand than that of KTM, it’s likely to land a Norden in your garage next year, you’ll be paying a premium over the bike it is based upon.
