BENELLI has launched the Leoncino 800 and Leoncino 800 Trail bikes which are both available in your closest Benelli dealer right now.
The two bikes feature the same basic platform, with a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, two-cylinder, 754cc motor and a tubular steel frame. But there are differences.
Engine specs between the two bikes are identical, which is to be expected. The 754cc motor is Euro5-compliant, of course, and features electric fuel injection, an 88mm bore and 62mm stroke, with 11.5:1 compression ratio, producing 76.1 horsepower and 67Nm
Both bikes also feature 50mm upside down (USD) front forks; 320mm dual semi-floating discs at the front with four-piston radial callipers and ABS; and 260mm discs at the rear with dual-piston callipers.
But the stroke in the aforementioned 50mm USD forks is different. For the standard Leoncino, the front fork stroke is 130mm, while for the Trail it is 140mm. There also differences in the rear suspension. For the standard bike, there is a 48mm stroke at the rear with 130mm of travel at the rear wheel; while for the Trail, there are 2mm extra stroke (50mm), and 10mm more rear wheel travel (140mm).
There are also differences in the front wheels. On the standard Leoncino, the front wheel is 17 inches, the same size as the rear wheel on both bikes. But, on the Trail, the front wheel is, expectedly, larger, at 19 inches. The tyres for the front wheels, though, are the same width and height, with a 120/70-17 front tyre for the standard bike, while the Trail has a 120/70-19. At the rear, though, there are differences, with a slightly narrower, taller tyre for the Trail. While the standard bike has a 180/55-17 rear tyre, the Trail has a 170/60-17.
The Leoncino 800 is available from any Benelli dealership from £7,499 in the colours: grey, brown, and green.
The Leoncino 800 Trail is available with the same range of colours, but from £7,799.
