BAAK Motocyclettes custom Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

French motorcycle custom shop BAAK Motocyclettes turns a new Royal Enfield Interceptor into something very special.

Called the Gallinella, this stunning motorcycle is the love child from a collaboration between BAAK Motocyclettes and Royal Enfield. It was built for the Wheels and Waves motorcycle festival, a place where classic and custom machines show off their tail feathers. And a place where the handcrafted Gallinella is more than at home. 

The Lyon based shop has cranked out a many custom modern classics in their time, using factory bikes as a base to build from. However, none look quite as complete as the Gallinella (code name ITN650). 

Whilst there are many pretty things to admire on this bike, it’s hard to not be drawn the “bathtub” rear fender. The eye-catching modification - handcrafted from aluminum - gives the bike an elegant modern retro style, and although it’s more streamlined than originally conceived it still grabs your attention. This piece is the bike's signature, as most modern custom motorcycles go in an opposite design direct, stripping off as much as possible to expose bespoke subframes and polished chrome. The ITN650 is different. It covers up with a perfectly fitting skirt, which I think looks even more delectable.  

And how could I not mention the cherry red and white paint job? This colouration harkens back to the late 1950s/60’s when things were on the up - and style was everything. Such a colour scheme really situates what time in history this bike was designed to fit. 

The bike is topped off this wide brushed steel handlebars (made in-house), a hand-stitched leather seat, a classic style Lucas P700 headlight, and retro-looking controls.
