Aprilia to reveal all-new X model at this weekend’s Catalan MotoGP
Aprilia has confirmed when it will reveal its all-new X model, which is inspired by the RS-GP that races in MotoGP.

Aprilia is set to showcase its all-new X model at this weekend’s Catalan Grand Prix, which is a limited edition motorcycle that will celebrate 10 years of MotoGP racing for the race-winning RS-GP.
The new X model from Aprilia will be as exclusive as they come, which keeps with tradition when it comes to previous X models. We also expect that the new model will officially be named ‘X GP’ when it's revealed.
For those who have been eagerly waiting to see what the new X model will look like, the wait is nearly over as Aprilia will show off its new bike this Friday, in Barcelona.
A statement from Aprilia Racing said: “The weekend will also feature a special event. On Friday, September 5, at 9pm, the new X will be unveiled, an exclusive bike in an edition limited in order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the RS-GP’s début in the premiere category of World Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing.”
We first caught wind of a new X model earlier this summer when Aprilia’s owner, Piaggio, filed trademarks for the new ‘X GP’.
And the new bike will land as the fifth instalment of the X family, following in the footsteps of the RSV4 X, Tuono V4 X, RSV4 XTrenta, and most recently the RSV4 X ex3ma, which was produced in just 30 units.
The ex3ma was built with MotoGP in mind as its technology trickled down from the brand’s factory racing project into the limited edition bike, and we would expect something similar with the new X model, since it's here to celebrate Aprilia’s racing pedigree.
