The 2024 KTM 450 SMR follows the path of other areas of the Pierer Mobility Group’s powersport ranges for 2024, by featuring limited technical changes but receiving updated graphics.
Previously, both KTM and Husqvarna have launched their respective motocross ranges for 2024, and Husqvarna has also launched the 2024 FS 450 supermoto, all of which received limited technical refinements and new graphics.
For the 2024 KTM 450 SMR this remains the case, as a new orange, black, white, and purple paint scheme aims to represent both the past and present of KTM, but hiding beneath the new visuals are few technical updates.
The SOHC 450cc engine remains 27kg in mass, but has altered positioning in the frame compared to the past in order to provide better mass centralisation. 63 horsepower remains the maximum output of the motor, which is tunable via two engine maps.
Elsewhere, Brembo provides the stopping power with four-piston callipers on 310mm and 220mm front and rear discs, respectively, while WP provides an XACT fork and shock. Finally, the tyres are from Metzeler’s SM K1 Supermoto range, on a 16.5-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel.
