John McGuinness to star at 2026 Classic TT with special parade lap
As well as the expanded race schedule, the 2026 Classic TT will feature major celebrations of John McGuinness’ 30-year Isle of Man TT career.

23-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness will feature heavily at the 2026 Classic TT, with celebrations of his glittering career set to include a special parade lap.
Now 54 years of age, McGuinness remains one of the fastest road racers in the world, after delivering another impressive performance at the 2026 TT.
McPint set his fastest ever six-lap race time during the Superbike TT, resulting in an impressive fifth-place finish. Given the performance he showed at the TT earlier this month, it seems as though the 23-time winner has plenty left in the tank, although McGuinness did confirm he “can’t carry on forever” as part of a special TT Podcast Live.

Regardless of when that decision comes, McGuinness will continue racing in the short-term at least, while the Classic TT in August will be a chance for fans to celebrate his career until now.
Currently third on the all-time TT winners list behind Michael Dunlop (36) and Joey Dunlop (26), McGuinness also became the first rider to set a 130mph lap in 2007. McGuinness will recreate that moment at the Classic TT by wearing the very same leathers, gloves, and helmet he wore in 2007 during the special parade lap.
The event will also host a unique exhibition, showcasing various motorcycles, memorabilia, and memories from McGuinness’s 30-year career.
The 2026 Classic TT will take place from Sunday, August 16, until Friday, August 28, and it will share course time with the Manx Grand Prix.
The race schedule will feature the Historic Junior Classic TT, Formula One Classic TT, Lightweight Classic TT & Ultra Lightweight Classic TT, Junior 600 Classic TT, Historic Senior Classic TT, and the Senior Classic TT.
All of these races will be held over a duration of three laps, except for the Senior Classic TT, which gets a race-distance of four laps.
