The move will come as good news to those of us looking to keep away from mass transportation, taking peace of mind from the solitude that commuting by motorcycle brings with it.

In accordance with government guidelines, a number of new hygiene measures have been implemented for the safety & comfort of customers and staff, with all customers are being advised to contact their local dealer before making the trip. Customers unable to visit their local store continue to have access to dealers’ online services.
For those in the market for a new Harley-Davidson, test rides and appointments are now also back up and running, albeit with additional hygiene procedures put into place. For those not wishing to make the trip to the dealership, Harley-Davidson’s Home Delivery service is an alternative, particularly for those dealerships in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales who are operating to local government Covid-19 restrictions.
The reopening of H-D’s dealers comes as the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) this week launched the UnlockYourFreedom.co.uk campaign. It’s a new initiative to help highlight the reasons why riding is a great alternative to stay isolated and safe.
MCIA CEO, Tony Campbell, said:
“Powered Two Wheelers are the perfect solution to the current Government advice of avoiding public transport. We are looking to every biker, industry connection and two-wheeled advocate to get behind the campaign to open up powered two-wheelers to the masses and highlight the very real benefits of travelling on two-wheels.”
Paul Lilly, Country Manager, Harley-Davidson UK & Ireland added:
“We’re proud to be working with the wider industry to support this campaign. Motorcycling provides an ideal solution for these unusual times, particularly for commuters who are keen to re-establish some sense of normality, while remaining safe and socially distanced on their journeys to and from work. We’ve definitely seen new customers in our dealerships this year as commuters seek alternative modes of transport for city riding.”
