Tom Hardy Film ‘The Bikeriders’ Official Trailer Released
The film features a big-name cast and focuses on the early days of a biker gang in post-war America
A new film is set for release later this summer, with Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, Norman Reedus and Austin Butler staring in The Bikeriders.
As the name suggests, the movie focuses on a motorbike gang and it’s set in 1960s Chicago, following the exploits of a motorcycle group the Vandals MC. The story follows the members of the group, as it grows in size and stature, morphing from a group of two-wheeled enthusiasts to one of the biggest organised crime groups in the region.

It’s written and directed by Jeff Nichols (Shotgun Stories, Take Shelter, Mud) and while Hardy seems a natural fit for a leading role in a motorcycle-related movie, being an avid motorcycle fan, as Nichols told IndieWire, bagging the Venom star was no easy task as Hardy preferred to stay close to his family.
To try and change his mind Nichols paid Hardy a visit to his home in London explaining that during the three-hour meeting Hardy “spoke the entire time” admitting that it “freaked” him out. “He was vibrating. Because it was so rapid-fire. And I was just trying to keep up. And I got a few good ones in. But then I left thinking, ‘I have no idea what just happened to me’” he continued.
The Bikeriders was originally shown at the Telluride Film Festival in August 2023 and was originally scheduled for release in December 2023. The 2023 Screen Actors Guild strikes prevented that from happening. One of the first Cinemas in the UK to screen the film will be the Arc Cinema in Daventry on 8 June at 8pm as an advanced screening to coincide with the Daventry Motorcycle Festival. The film is scheduled for a full UK release 21 June.
