A LONDON MOTORCYCLE paramedic was prevented from carrying out further duties after his motorcycle helmet was stolen whilst he treated a patient.
The theft was reported on the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust’s Facebook page on Friday, January 18.
“One our motorcycle paramedic's helmet was stolen while he was treating a patient in north east London last week,” the post said.
“The theft of the helmet and built in earpiece – vital equipment for us but of little use to anyone else – meant the medic couldn’t respond to other patients.”
Social media fans responded angrily to the post, labelling the thief ‘the lowest of the low’ and ‘disrespectful’. Others offered to donate to help replace the white Shoei Neotec II, which retails at £519.99.
The loss of the flip-front helmet, which features ‘Paramedic’ in large red writing across the back, meant that the medic was stranded, unable to respond to further calls.
