M40 biker shooting: man named

THE MOTORCYCLIST shot on the M40 on Sunday afternoon has been named as Gerard Michael Tobin, 35, from Mottingham, south London,

Police believe Mr.Tobin was the victim of a planned attack, as he rode his Harley Davidson on the M40 after leaving the Bulldog Bash biker rally. The victim was killed by a single bullet to the back of the head.

Detectives believe the green Rover 600 series car, which is still being traced by Police, layed in ambush as Mr.Tobin travelled along the motorway. Two shots are believed to have been fired, although only one hit the victim just below his helmet.

The victim had been an employee of Warrs Harley dealership in south London. Sources say the shop is to remain closed until Thursday as a mark of respect.

More than 200 people have come forward giving vital information about the incident, but Warwickshire Police are still keen to hear from anyone who can provide further details.
