Arctic Role for Caberg helmets

UK lid firm backing Arctic Circle charity ride

Caddy's Arctic Ride hits the Arctic Circle

CABERG HELMETS UK is supporting a five-country mega-mile challenge ride to the Arctic Circle, supplying Tourmax Marathon flip-front helmets to the five riders. The ‘Caddy’s Arctic Ride’ event is taking place in memory of PC Simon Caddy, a traffic officer with Thames Valley police, who was killed in a road traffic accident in May 2017. Before he died, Simon was planning the Arctic tour to mark 35 years since his father, Adrian, had ridden his own tour of the north, on a BMW boxer, in 1983.

Now, Simon’s family and friends are continuing with the ride, in his memory, while aiming to raise money and awareness for biker and road safety across the world, and promoting the Think Bike campaign. Simon’s father, Adrian, featured in a video about the project which was shot by Caberg (below)

The group left the UK from The Bike Shed in London on June 15th, waved off by Charley Boorman, who also featured in a send-off video made by Caberg (below). The group successfuly made it to the Arctic Circle for the longest day – June 21 – last week, and they’re now on their way back to the UK via Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Holland, arriving back on July 1st.

“We’re really proud to support Caddy’s Arctic Ride,” said Mathew Hall of Caberg UK. “Adrian approached us about the trip, and we were really touched by the story of Simon and his planned Arctic trip.

“In an effort to support the journey Caberg has supplied the group with Tourmax helmets. It’s the first ever flip-front adventure helmet with a peak and we’re confident the journey to the Arctic will provide lots of opportunities to showcase its capabilities.”
