BMW’s new boxer coffee machine comes with a big price tag
Is this the fanciest coffee machine money can buy, or can’t buy for that matter?

BMW has unveiled what is sure to be the coolest coffee machine a motorcyclist could own, but there’s one major stumbling block: the cost, which is €7,900 (around £6,860).
I don't know about you, but that rules me out of owning this boxer-inspired BMW coffee machine, much to my sadness.
The coffee machine is based on BMW’s air- and oil-cooled R18 boxer engine that, in its latest configuration, produces 89bhp and 120 Ib ft of peak torque. It has been created as part of a partnership between BMW Motorrad and ECM Espresso Coffee Machines Manufacture GmbH. Production has also been limited to just 80 units.

The new coffee machine is mounted on a shapely metal frame and equipped with a seemingly floating drip tray. The portafilter machine combines two independent water circulation systems for simultaneous preparation of coffee and milk foam.
Further technical highlights of the special coffee machine, according to BMW, includes “an extremely quiet rotary pump and a shot counter with a display of the preparation time”. For those hoping the boxer coffee machine will roar into life like the motorcycle engine when brewing your next morning coffee, sadly you might end up being disappointed.

The 1802cc two-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine is the largest built by BMW, and like other models in the boxer family - such as the R1300 R, RS and RT bikes - the R18 also underwent updates for 2025.
The €7,900 (£6,860) price tag includes VAT and you can find out more about the coffee machine at exclusive ECM dealers.
