Huge offers made as special Valentino Rossi auction begins
Valentino Rossi’s special 46th birthday race suit from Dainese, and AGV Pista GP-RR helmet, have officially gone up for auction.

Earlier this year UNICEF Italia confirmed it would be auctioning a very special Valentino Rossi-worn birthday race suit and helmet for charity, which is now underway and ends on 29 November.
The racing leathers, along with a beautiful black and gold AGV Pista GP-RR helmet, have been donated by the Dainese and Rossi, with the auction taking place on eBay.

As part of Rossi’s 46th birthday celebrations in February, Dainese and AGV created the special Soleluna VR46 Anniversario limited series, with #1/46 going to the nine-time world champion.
But to own this special bit of kit you will need: a) to be fast, and b) have a sizable wallet. That’s because bidding has already exceeded €36,250 (around £31,820).

All funds raised from the auction are going to a very good cause, which is UNICEF's Road Safety for Children program. It is designed to keep children safe on the street, which includes having reduced speed limits around schools.
The suit itself is Dainese’s Demone GP D-air 3x, which is made of premium kangaroo leather and is part of the same equipment used by many Grand Prix racers. Rossi wore the suit and helmet at Mugello while riding a Yamaha R1.
According to the listing, “the kit is delivered in a custom-made aluminum and plexiglass display case, with a commemorative numbered plaque and certificate of authenticity.” The listing also says the suit and helmet show “normal signs of wear” and should to be considered as display items.
