Aprilia creates history with first MotoGP ‘poker’ result
Aprilia’s first-ever ‘poker’ finish in MotoGP has put the Noale manufacturer back in the lead of the world championship with Jorge Martin.

Aprilia has created history after achieving its first-ever ‘poker’ finish in MotoGP, which requires a complete lockout of the top four positions in a Grand Prix.
The result looked in doubt with just a few laps to go, as Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta were ahead of Trackhouse Racing’s Ai Ogura.
However, the RS-GP, which was expected to perform well at Mandalika, delivered on that assumption by claiming a top-four finish.
The winner of the Grand Prix was not Jorge Martin, although the Spaniard’s third place finish, coupled with Marquez ending the 27-lap race in sixth, meant the soon-to-be Yamaha rider regained the championship lead.

Instead, it was factory Aprilia team-mate Marco Bezzecchi who clinched victory, after overtaking Raul Fernandez with a few laps remaining.
Bezzecchi managed to pull clear of the Spaniard, with whom he collided with in the sprint race on the opening lap.
The top-four lockout is the most impressive result by any manufacturer outside of Ducati in the last few years.
Ducati, which has largely dominated MotoGP in recent times, has become accustomed to delivering such results.
However, it’s not often that Ducati has been on the receiving end of such a dominant display, although the top four in Mandalika follows somewhat of a trend in 2026.

Aprilia’s top four result in Indonesia marked the fourth time that Aprilia has finished in all three podium places in a race this season.
The next round of the 2026 MotoGP championship takes place on October 23-25 at Phillip Island, which will be the final MotoGP race at the iconic venue ahead of the series’ switch to Adelaide in 2027.
