V2-powered Ducati Monster enters production
Ducati’s new fifth generation Monster, which gains a completely reworked V2-powered engine for 2026, is one step closer to reaching dealerships.

Ducati has revealed its new, highly-anticipated V2-powered Monster, has entered production ahead of its release in February 2026.
The standard Monster and Monster Plus will be available in either a Ducati Red or Iceberg White livery, and will arrive in Europe first, before landing in the US, Japan, and Australia later in the year.
For 2026, the Ducati Monster V2 gains a completely reworked 890cc engine with IVT (Intake Variable Timing), while also receiving new technology and weight savings compared to the previous model.
It produces 109.5 bhp at 9,000rpm and 67 lb-ft of torque at 7,250rpm, with 80 per cent of its torque available between 4,000 and 10,000rpm. The Monster’s new powerplant also features service intervals as part of a valve clearance check every 45,000km (around 28,000 miles), which in theory should help keep maintenance costs at a minimum.

The new Monster is the fifth generation of what Ducati calls a “true motorcycling icon”, with the first model born in 1992.
Ducati goes on to say that the new model’s “design reinterprets the style of the first Monster in a modern key, bringing back the signature elements that have always distinguished it: the headlight framed by the “shoulders” of the bison-back tank, the one-piece seat, and the short, lightweight tail section.”
Showa provides the suspension, with a 43mm upside-down fork and a preload-adjustable rear shock. From there, braking is handled by none other than Brembo, with M4.32 radial calipers biting down on 320mm discs up front. At the rear is a 245mm disc that’s paired with a two-piston caliper, with cornering ABS featured at both ends.

Four riding modes are available thanks to the advanced electronics package, which include Sport, Road, Urban and Rain. They are all displayed on a five-inch TFT display, which can also feed through information such as turn-by-turn navigation.
Finally, the long list of updates has also resulted in a lower seat height than before; now set at 815mm, although it can be lowered even further to 775mm. The 2026 model has shaved a total of 4 kg, tipping the scales at a dry weight of 175 kg.
