THE BBC is reporting that a 40-year-old rider has been found lying in a ditch three days after crashing his bike on a deserted stretch of road.
The unnamed rider from Goole, East Yorkshire, crashed while riding on Tuesday, September 11, apparently hitting a sign on the A614 north of Thorne and ending up 200 metres further down the road, lying in water at the bottom of a six-foot-deep ditch.
A massive search including the use of a helicopter for three days resulted in the man finally being discovered on September 14.
He was said to be conscious when found, but suffering broken ribs and hypothermia, and is now being treated at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
