Macau Grand Prix champion to debut at IoM TT 23

The Finnish racer will compete in the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior TT Races on the Penz13.com M 1000 RR

Erno Kostamo

FINNISH road racer Erno Kostamo will compete in the 2023 Isle of Man TT races this summer, as the Macau Grand Prix champion joins Penz13 for the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior classes.

Kostamo became the first non-Briton to win at Macau since 1997, and he’s tipped to break another long-standing record when he takes to the mountain course later this year. As a regular podium winner in International road races, he could also become the fastest Finn on just his first visit, an accolade that currently belongs to Mika Kallio who posted a 117.132mph lap nine years ago.

A regular podium finisher in the International Road Racing Championship (IRRC), Kostamo has contested the road circuits in mainland Europe since 2016, ending 2018 in third place in the Superbike class behind Danny Webb and Didier Grams. 2017, 2019, and 2022 saw the flying Finn finish fourth overall, claiming four wins and 21 podiums.

Kostamo will contest the RST Superbike, RL360 Superstock, and Milwaukee Senior TT Races on the Penz13.com BMW M 1000 RR and becomes the first rider from Finland to compete at the TT since Juha Kallio in 2017.
