KTM has officially confirmed that Miguel Oliveira will remain with the satellite Tech3 team for the 2020 MotoGP season, having already taken up its option of a contract extension with the Portuguese rookie.
Oliveira has finished 17th, 11th and 14th in his opening premier-class races, challenging Pol Espargaro for top KTM honours in Argentina.
“We are extremely happy to announce that we have activated our option with Miguel and his contract with us early because what he has shown in the first races is really good for us and there is no reason to wait any longer," said KTM motorsports director Pit Beirer.
"We’re really pleased to have a rider of his clear potential inside KTM for another year.”
Espargaro and factory team-mate Johann Zarco are also contracted to the end of 2020, while Oliveira's team-mate Hafizh Syahrin has a deal with Tech3 (rather than KTM) until the end of this season.
