John McGuinness to star at Belle Vue Speedway Stadium

TT legend makes star appearance at Manchester racetrack

ISLE of Man TT superstar John McGuinness will face a new audience at the Belle Vue Speedway Stadium in Manchester next Monday (August 10).

The HM Plant Honda rider, who owns a speedway bike, is often a 'face in the crowd' visitor to Belle Vue meetings when his racing commitments allow.

He has agreed to put one of his TT bikes on show so fans, who are allowed in the pits area until 7pm, can get up close to the second most successful rider in TT history with one his machines.

McGuinness, who goes Enduro riding for fitness with top speedway riders like former British champion Joe Screen, will stage his one-man exhibition before Belle Vue's Elite League match against Coventry.

Belle Vue chief David Gordon, who went to the Isle of Man with his two fellow promoters to watch the Morecambe-based rider, said: “John is always a welcome guest here and I think it gives him the chance to relax away from his road racing scene and enjoy the racing.

“We asked him if he would consider bringing a TT bike down for fans to look at and he was quite happy to do so.

“We have offered him the chance of trying out a speedway bike at Belle Vue but, so far, he has been unable to take us up on it.”
