Luke Mossey will return to the British Superbike Championship (BSB) grid in 2022 after landing a deal to join the works-aligned TAG Racing Honda team.

The 29-year old was originally planning to campaign a Kawasaki ZX-10RR with DB Racing but was ported over to the team’s British Supersport Championship challenge, where he runs fourth overall heading into the concluding round at Brands Hatch this weekend.

His arrival at TAG Racing sees him replace Dan Linfoot, who parted ways with the team after Round 10 of 12, forcing the outfit to sit out the final two events too.

As the only team on the grid beyond the factory-backed set-up to run the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, Mossey is excited to both rejoin BSB and get his hands on the multiple-race winning machine.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be back in the Superbike class next year with TAG Racing Honda, they’re a fantastic team and certainly have the same vision as I do for 2022.

“From my first conversations with Gary and Rob they impressed me with their passion for the project, and how much effort goes in behind the scenes. I’ve recently sat on the bike to confirm my riding position and straight away it felt like a pure race bike, and that excites me. With a good amount of seat time this weekend and during pre-season I’m sure we’ll be where we should be, up at the front and challenging for the top five each weekend.

“I’m heading into this weekend with a calm head, it’s going to be a busy one contesting in both the Superbike and Superstock classes, but I’m always up for a challenge. It’s important I don’t get carried away with myself, I need to get an understanding of how the bike feels and make steady progress as we go through the weekend.

“I’m excited for the challenge that this weekend and 2022 will bring, I know that I am a front runner in BSB and I’m fully confident we have the right package to prove that me and the team can do it.”

Mossey made his BSB debut in 2015, reaching the Title Showdown in 2016 before landing his only two career BSB wins the following season.
