Knockhill BSB - Free Practice Results (3)

Danny Buchan swept to the top of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship timesheets at a warm and sunny Knockhill, heading up final free practice ahead of qualifying.

A venue known for suiting the Kawasaki ZX-10RR package having locked out the podium in both races last season, Buchan – who scored a brace of third places at Knockhill a year ago – swept to the top with just over 10mins remaining with a 47.493s lap.

With only a second covering down to 19th, Dan Linfoot fronted a trio of Yamahas in second place, ahead of the McAMS machines of Tarran Mackenzie and Jason O’Halloran.

Leading the session for a time, Bradley Ray was an encouraging fifth best on the Buildbase Suzuki, ahead of Christian Iddon, who was sixth fastest despite a tip off at the hairpin.

Andrew Irwin ended the session seventh best as the top Honda representative, ahead of leading Ducati rider Scott Redding in eighth place, Peter Hickman and Glenn Irwin completing the top ten.

Just outside the leading positions, title contenders Josh Brookes and Tommy Bridewell were 11th and 12th quickest.
