BSB Snetterton Test Results [Combined] | O’Halloran stays top from Sykes, Ray

Jason O'Halloran ends the three-day British Superbike Championship (BSB) test on top, a tenth quicker than series returnee Tom Sykes and Bradley Ray

Jason O'Halloran - McAMS Yamaha

Jason O’Halloran held onto his spot at the top of the timesheets as the first official 2022 British Superbike Championship (BSB) pre-season test came to a close at sunny Snetterton.

Making the most of the unseasonably sunny and warm conditions at the Norfolk circuit, the full field of 34 riders enjoyed three days of uninterrupted dry running to set themselves for the new season, which gets underway at Silverstone on 15-17 April.

Fastest on Saturday, McAMS Yamaha’s O’Halloran was top of the pile again on Sunday after improving his benchmark by 0.004secs.

It was enough to hold the impressive Tom Sykes at bay, the 2013 WorldSBK Champion making a statement of intent in his first official outing on the Paul Bird Motorsport-prepared MCE Ducati Panigale V4 R in second.

RICH Energy OMG Racing’s Bradley Ray popped up from fourth to third position after improving his  best on Sunday, the two-time BSB race winner finding the sweet spot on the ex-McAMS Yamaha R1 that has replaced his BMW M 1000 RR for 2022.

Josh Brookes appeared back to his best with the fourth best time on the second of the MCE Ducati entries, heading off Rory Skinner, the youngster impressing to top the timesheets on Sunday morning as he ended the test fifth, from Synetiq BMW’s Danny Buchan.

Defending champion Tarran Mackenzie made the biggest gains between Saturday and Sunday, surging up the order to seventh best, pushing down Peter Hickman (FHO BMW) and Danny Kent (Buildbase Suzuki), while Tommy Bridewell was another Sunday improver to go tenth.
