Brookes goes clear to lead Be Wiser Ducati 1-2 in FP2

Josh Brookes asserted himself once more in second free practice for Round 4 of the 2019 at Branda Hatch GP, putting four tenths between himself and Be Wiser Ducati team-mate Scott Redding.

Looking to bounce back from a disappointing Donington Park round last month, the Australian was in devastatingly quick form around the circuit he claimed a double win at a year ago.

Redding was sat on the same time as Brookes coming into the closing stages of the session until his team-mate went quicker, but was still fast enough for second ahead of third place man Christian Iddon, who bounced back after technical issues in FP1 – which stopped him from setting a time – to end up third in FP2.

Tarran Mackenzie led the Yamaha challenge in fourth position, ahead of Tommy Bridewell and Peter Hickman, with Dan Linfoot and Jason O’Halloran completing the top eight positions.

Elsewhere, the international contingent had a trying day with Claudio Corti down in 16th, Hector Barbera in 17th and Xavi Fores – a triple podium winner at Donington – in 18th.
