QJMotor enters the fray with value-focused SRT 450 RX Rally

With Marzocchi suspension, Brembo brakes and standard luggage, the A2-friendly SRT 450 RX Rally arrives aiming to shake up the affordable adventure class.

QJMotor is continuing its push into the UK’s increasingly busy middleweight adventure sector with the arrival of the new SRT 450 RX Rally. Like many of the models already available, it aims to blend rally-bike attitude with everyday usability, all while keeping a firm lid on the price.

The SRT 450 RX Rally will be arriving in the UK with a £5,499 (+ OTR) hanging from the handlebar. That makes it a cheaper option than the upcoming Kawasaki KLE500 (£5,999), Honda NX500 (£6,899), and CFMoto 450MT (£5,699). There is the OTR payment to take into account (around £200), which will be included with most of those options. But each of them would fall behind the QJ in terms of items included as standard, such as the heated grips, seats, luggage and auxiliary lights.

Powering the bike is a 449cc parallel-twin engine producing 46.9 bhp and 30 lb ft of torque, neatly placing it within A2 licence limits without reducing it to commuter-only status. The engine is said to be tuned for accessible performance rather than headline-grabbing figures, with a broad spread of drive intended to work as well when picking through loose terrain as it does on the motorway.

Visually, the SRT 450 RX Rally leans heavily into Dakar-inspired design. Up front sits a rally-style tower complete with a height-adjustable screen, while behind it you’ll find a portrait-format TFT dash – something which is fast becoming a de rigueur on any adventure bike. The display supports Bluetooth connectivity, navigation mirroring and even tyre pressure monitoring, features that are still far from guaranteed at this end of the market.

Comfort hasn’t been overlooked either, with heated grips and a heated rider and passenger seats fitted as standard. Full LED lighting is also a feature, but that isn’t the end of the equipment list. Like most Chinese bike makers, QJ includes a lot of equipment straight out of the crate, such as an 18-litre tank, three-piece hard luggage set, engine bars, aluminium bash plate, hand guards, auxiliary lights and USB charging, which all come fitted as standard.

Underneath the bodywork is a steel cradle frame paired with long-travel Marzocchi suspension, including fully adjustable USD forks and a multi-link rear shock. Braking is handled by Brembo, with a radial four-piston caliper biting a 320 mm disc at the front, matched to a 240 mm rear. That is supported by Bosch dual-channel ABS with switchable rear intervention for off-road riding.

Wire-spoked, tubeless-ready wheels measure 21 inches at the front and 18 at the rear, reinforcing the bike’s genuine dual-purpose intent, while the seat sits at a tall but not over-the-top height of 835 mm. With all the kit included, QJ is quoting a kerb weight of 184 kg ready to ride. If you are hitting the trails and ditch the luggage, there is probably another 10 to 15 kg you can subtract from that number.

The QJMotor SRT 450 RX Rally is available in black, red or white, and is priced at £5,499 2 years, unlimited mileage warranty. More information can be found on the official website.
