Potential new BMW K1600 B bagger teased
A new teaser image from BMW appears to show what could be a new BMW K1600 B variant.

Hot on the heels of BMW CEO Markus Flasch teasing what appear to be production-ready R20s, the Bavarian brand has now shared another shadowy teaser – and this time it looks like a new K1600 variant could be on the way.

The post, shared by BMW Motorrad on Instagram, shows a long, low, dimly lit motorcycle silhouetted against a scenic night-time backdrop. Both the front and rear lights are illuminated, giving us a rough idea of the bike’s shape. Up front, the fairing appears smooth and uncluttered, while the rear lighting seems to sweep down the flanks of the bike, a design cue that similarly echoed on the existing BMW K1600 B.

BMW hasn’t confirmed exactly what the model is, and the accompanying caption gives very little away, leaving plenty of room for speculation. Some commenters have suggested it could be a new BMW R18 variant, although that feels unlikely given Flasch’s recent R20 teaser, which is widely expected to be the replacement for the slow-selling R18.

That leaves the inline six-powered K1600 range as the most likely candidate. Judging by the bike’s stretched-out, low-slung silhouette, this teaser appears to point towards a new version of the bagger-style K1600 B.
The teaser text itself also hints in that direction. “Designed for full force. Ready for takeoff,” reads the post, wording that could easily reference the K1600’s famously turbine-like six-cylinder engine, which delivers seamless drive from barely above idle all the way to the redline.
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to find out what BMW has planned. The teaser confirms more details will be revealed on May 15 at 7pm CEST — or 6pm here in the UK.
