Suter’s 500cc two-stroke revealed

Full details of the Suter MMX 500

SUTER has today unveiled pictures and technical details of its exclusive MMX 500 two-stroke V4 race bike, which we recently reported on.

The claimed figures are incredible - 195hp and 127kg with a top speed of over 192mph. There will be 99 made, with each costing 120,000 Swiss Francs – approximately £81k.

Behind the carbon-fibre bodywork is a 576cc fuel injected four-cylinder V4, revving to a claimed 13,000rpm. The two-stroke soundtrack is played out of a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system and you can hear it running here.

The engine is housed in an adjustable twin-spar frame, which is paired to an adjustable aluminium swingarm. There’s a set of Ohlins FGR300 forks in the front and what looks like an Ohlins TTX GP shock in the rear. The fuel tank is carbon-fibre and buyers will get the choice of aluminium or magnesium Oz wheels.

The MMX 500 has been revealed on a microsite featuring pictures from the 'golden era' of 500cc GP racing.

It's due to be raced at next year’s World GP Bike Legends event in period livery - check out the Rothmans NSR 500 bodywork on the right.
