Special edition colours for Japanese CBs

Honda CB400, CB1100 and CB1300 all get special treatment

HONDA has unveiled a set of ‘special edition’ models across its retro CB range in Japan.

The new schemes are heavy on the black. Both the CB400 Super Bol D’Or and the near-identical-looking CB1300 Super Bol D’Or get black paint with red highlights including red springs on the rear shocks, red rim tape and some stripes.

The CB1100 goes for the café racer clichés with some chequered flag-style graphics on white against its black paintwork, along with having most of its chrome and alloy parts refinished in black. The wire-wheeled CB1100EX gets a classy black-over-graphite paint scheme. Again, its engine is refinished in black, but it keeps more of the standard bike’s chrome elsewhere.

They’re not on the menu for European customers, though.
