Smoked Garage launch the Ghost

The bike looks almost identical to the Lotus C-01 launched a few years ago, although it’s DNA is a million miles from there…

YOU’VE probably never heard of Smoked Garage and there is a very good reason for that. Their base is located on the tiny island nation of Bali for one thing. Not exactly down the road, is it?

The second reason is they specialise in low volume builds, turning what would be termed ordinary motorcycles into rolling pieces of two-wheeled artwork. A bit like this, the Ghost.

The origins of this custom-built machine will probably surprise you, it’s based around the sporty roadster that is the iconic Triumph 1050 Speed Triple!

The bike uses the standard Triumph frame, although we are certain that some level of modification has gone in, mated to a custom-built subframe to carry the seat unit and rear bodywork. All of the bike’s fairings are handbuilt in steel, including the mudguards, headlight cowl, and fuel tank. The chassis components and running gear are all stock Triumph items, meaning the bike retains the same fully adjustable forks and Brembo brakes of the donor bike – plenty of stopping power there then.

While the Ghost may not offer the rider the same level of exclusivity that the Lotus C-01 does, the real-world usability of a bike based around the reliable and rideable Triumph Speed Triple should make it a much more enjoyable machine to ride day-to-day.

There’s no word on the price of the Ghost, for more information head to: smokedgarage.com
