New electric sports bike from Japan

THIS Japanese-made electric sports bike capable of 100mph and with a 120-mile battery range has been showcased at the Indian Auto Expo show.

Called the Kiwami, it offers acceleration equivalent to a 1000cc petrol-powered bike, according to maker Terra Motors.

The Kiwami is hand-built in Japan but is also set to be assembled in India, where it will go on sale for around £17,000.

Terra Motors also showcased an electric scooter called the A400i, with a 40mph top speed, a 40-mile range and a charging time of 4.5 hours.
