LEXMOTO has rocketed up the sales charts in recent years, and a huge part of their success is the affordable and sporty LXR 125 (and LXR SE 125) - the highest selling sportsbike of 2020.

They’ve just been updated for 2021, and are now Euro 5 compliant with a boost in power, 6-speed gearbox and TFT screen!

Having ridden the original LXR SE 125, I was incredibly impressed with the big-bike dimensions, and this updated LXR range has kept everything that made the original so good and built upon it.

The new LXR 125 will have an updated Euro 5 compliant 125cc single-cylinder motor, liquid-cooled and with higher max power and torque figures - 12.5 bhp at 9000 rpm (+0.4 bhp accessed 500 revs lower in the rev range than previously), and 11Nm at 6750 rpm (+1.5~ Nm at 250 revs higher than previously) with a 12:1 compression ratio.

This new motor is coupled with a new 6-speed gearbox, something that was definitely needed on the previous model - so sitting at 65-70mph should be much more comfortable. Plus, the rear shock linkage has been redesigned for sportier handling and a better feel on the road.

The new models also stay true to their heritage, providing that big-bike feel for learner and A1 riders thanks to the twin disc brakes at the front (single disc at rear), higher 820mm seat height (with lowering kit available for shorter riders), and wide 17 inch tyres front and rear (F: 110/70-17 & R: 150/70-17).

The SE edition is also packed with smart features for a 125cc machine, with the new TFT display - a feature not seen before on a 125cc sports motorcycle - adjustable USD fork, and lighter aluminium swingarm.

What’s a new model without new colourways? The updated LXR and LXR SE both come with updated colour schemes, and really do look the part. The new Euro 5 LXR comes in Black/Gold, Black/Red & Black/White (with Blue accent), whilst the LXR SE 125 comes in signature Red/Black colourway.

The suggested retail price for the 2021 LXR 125 is £2,499.99, with the LXR SE 125 at £2,799.99 - they’ll be available in dealerships from Tuesday 23rd March.

It's been an immensely popular and successful motorcycle for Lexmoto at an incredibly attractive price-point for new riders, and it appears that this updated model is definitely going to be one to watch in 2021.
