The Indian range gets a massive update for 2021 with new Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse, and Super Chief Limited models

INDIAN Motorcycle, America’s oldest motorcycle maker, has unveiled a new range of cruisers, the Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse, and Super Chief Limited models.

Indian Springfield Dark Horse Review 2020 |

At the heart of the new models is the phenomenal Thunderstroke 116 engine which produces a mammoth 162 Nm (119lb-ft) of torque. ABS is standard across the range, as is the new 101mm Ride Command system that can be used via the touchscreen or through the handlebar controls.

As you expect from Indian, each bike in the range carries its own distinctive style and attitude, and each is refreshingly different from anything else on offer today. The Chief and Chief Bobber Dark Horse models provide a moody matt paint job with gloss-black finishes on the engine, while the Super Chief Limited goes for a more authentic, chrome finish.

The paired back styling of the bikes is for me what sets them apart. The huge V-twin pretty much dominates the bike giving it an ‘all-engine’ outline. If it’s as good to ride as it looks, I’m very much looking forward to getting a go on one of these!

Chief Dark Horse – from £15,795 MSRP (Black Smoke)

The Indian Chief Dark Horse features stripped-down, mechanical styling highlighted by drag handlebars, 19-inch cast wheels, mid-mount foot controls, a slim headlight bucket and a solo bobber seat. The Chief Dark Horse is offered in Black Smoke, Alumina Jade Smoke and Stealth Gray.

Chief Bobber Dark Horse – from £17,695 MSRP (Black Smoke)

Mini-ape hanger handlebars paired with forward foot controls provide a more upright and commanding riding position. The Chief Bobber Dark Horse sits on 16-inch (40.6 cm) wire wheels, adds fork and shock covers, and features a large headlight bucket wrapped in a nacelle. The Chief Bobber Dark Horse is available in Black Smoke, Titanium Smoke, and Sagebrush Smoke.

Super Chief Limited - £19,995 MSRP

Designed for comfort, the Super Chief Limited stands apart with a quick release windscreen, black leather saddlebags, touring seat with passenger pad, floorboards and traditional cruiser handlebars. The Super Chief Limited features 16-inch (40.6 cm) wire wheels, large headlight bucket with nacelle, fork covers, and a full chrome exhaust that delivers a premium fit and finish. The Super Chief Limited is available in Black Metallic, Blue Slate Metallic, and Maroon Metallic.
