Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario announced

Ducati has rolled out a trick limited edition version of the Monster, to celebrate the roadster's 30th anniversary

Monster 30th anniversary

THE bike to arrive from Ducati’s 2024 model reveal comes in the form of possibly one of the most important bikes for the Bologna brand, a limited edition Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario.

Originally launched in 1993, the original Monster took one of Ducati’s L-twin engines, planted it in a new frame with some flat bars and sent it out the door. Had it failed, Ducati would have been staring down the barrel of a very difficult time, but it didn’t, in fact, the public and press loved it, and it went on to become one of the brand’s most successful models.

Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario features and specs

Over the years though the Monster has had to evolve, although Ducati always seems to be careful with altering the bike’s distinctive DNA and that entertaining character. Billed as ‘a collectors Monster’, the new 30° Anniversario features a commemorative livery as well as a smattering of other trinkets to keep the hardcore Ducatisti happy.

Set against the forged gold wheels and Ohlins forks is a new tricolour paint scheme, which is joined by the Termignoni exhaust (as found on the Monster SP) and carbon mudguards. The seat is also different on this bike to the others in the range, with an embroidered seat featuring on the Anniversario.

Ducati is also claiming the bike to be lighter than all others in the range, with the spec page claiming the weight of the Monster is ‘reduced by 4kg’ with the quoted weight of the machine coming in at 164kg dry.

The engine specs for the new Anniversario are the same as the other Monsters in the range, meaning you have 111hp and 69lb-ft to play with. As with the engine, the chassis of the bike is the same as the SP, meaning Ohlins NIX forks and an Ohlins rear shock and steering damper.

The final flourish for this range-topping bike is a specially engraved and numbered plaque to adorn the top clamp of the bike.

Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario UK price

The UK price of the Ducati Monster 30° Anniversario is £16,095 and as just 500 will be getting made, if you want one, you better move quickly. It might not have the specs of something like a Superleggera, but it is a nice-looking thing to wheel out on a Sunday afternoon. It is though £2,100 more than the SP, and with very similar mechanical specs as that machine, we guess that really is the price of exclusivity!
