A Motorcycle Rider Has Died After a Collision with a Van

A motorcycle rider in North Wales has lost his life after colliding with a van, and the police have asked for witnesses to come forward

A collision between a motorcycle rider and a Mercedes van in North Wales has resulted in the rider tragically losing his life.

It’s believed the motorcyclist died soon after the collision on the A494 road at Llanferres, near Mold, on Thursday 6 March. North Wales Police received a report of the crash, which involved a Honda motorcycle and a Mercedes Sprinter van, at 9.16am.

Emergency services attended as quickly as possible, but unfortunately the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, and the Coroner has also been notified.

The police force in North Wales has asked anyone who may have seen anything from the incident or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward and help with the investigation into the rider’s death. Anyone with information is urged to contact North Wales Police via 101 or through their website which can be found here.

Detective Sergeant Katie Davies of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our condolences go to the man’s family and friends at this difficult time. We are appealing for any witnesses, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A494 just prior to the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”

The road where the accident occurred remains closed at this time but is expected to reopen shortly.
