Venhill has announced that its aftermarket throttle cables are now available for two-stroke models from both KTM and Husqvarna.
The included models for Venhill’s throttle cables for the KTM and Husqvarna two-stroke dirt bikes include everything from the 50cc minis up to the 250cc SX and TC models.
The reason for the delay in Venhill bringing its throttle cables to KTM and Husqvarna is the need for the British brand to develop a new “hybrid core wire,” as Venhill calls it. This was necessary due to the method KTM uses for guiding the throttle cable to the throttle itself.
KTM’s method is known as a ‘wheel’ fitting, and has required the stainless-steel cable to be wound in the opposite direction to regular throttle cables in order to reduce friction where the cable bends around the ‘wheel’. Also aiding in reducing friction is the teflon liner.
A smoother throttle action, combined with better durability and improved performance are cited as the benefits of the Venhill cable - which is a direct replacement for the OEM cable - compared to standard.
The Venhill cables also feature increased strength thanks to their being ‘bird-caged,’ which Venhill describes as “a special process, which allows solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger.”

The Venhill cable is available on the 2021-and-later models of all of the above-listed motorcycles, and retail for £33.86 across that range. A range of colours are available, including orange, black, and blue to match the factory colours of KTM and Husqvarna, and Venhill’s throttle cables can be ordered with extra length if required.
